Description: First licensed in 1810, this Low Town free-house is a popular pub with all age groups. Nine hand-pulls serve five regular and one or two changing guest beers which include seasonal ales. The hotel has three drinking areas. The extended front bar has a rustic feel but with a modern atmosphere. To the right of the entrance is a large wood-panelled lounge bar which leads to a conservatory. The lounge and conservatory have wide screen TVs, mainly for sporting events which are enthusiastically supported by the regulars. Lunch and dinner are not served but filled rolls are often available. Ensuite bed and breakfast accommodation is available. The external smoking area leads to a long courtyard, pleasant for outdoor drinking with access to the nearby River Severn. The Pay & Display car park is accessed from Severn Street, although pub customers may park free of charge (pay and reclaim from the bar).
